After several successful parenting online courses in English, VICCIR in collaboration with Dr. Alison Miller is about to launch a new course for Arabic speaking families. Our overall goal is to support multicultural families and parents through these challenging times and to develop useful skills for healthier family relationships that are mindful and respectful of cultural values.
Course description:
A three weeks Parenting Workshop: “Healthy Family Living in a New Country in the time of Covid-19.”
This course addresses the following topics:
o Helping your Family during COVID
o Managing Children’s Behavior during COVID
o Managing your Own Emotions during COVID
Sessions will take place on Thursdays, February 18 and 25, and March 4 from 10 am to 12 pm (PST).
Language requirements:
This course will be offered in English with simultaneous Arabic translation by trained translators to eliminate language barriers for Arabic-speaking individuals.
Cost:
The three sessions course “Healthy Family Living in a New Country in the Time of Covid-19,” has a cost of $60CAD. For those who need it, there are scholarships available up to $50 at registration.
